Istvan Kemeny

István Kemény, born in 1961. Holds a degree in History and Hungarian studies (University of ELTE Budapest). From 1990-93 PhD course in Literature of ELTE Budapest, in 1996 scholarship at YADDO (New York, USA). His works (selection): Winding Stair to Forgotten Departments (1984), Playing with Poison and Anti-poison (1987), Themes from the Roccoco-film (1991), The Kobold Chorus (1993), The silent H (1996), a novel The Art of the Enemy (1989), a book of short stories Family, Children, Car (1997) and a book of essays The Kafka-Paradigm - with Isván Vörös (1993). The winner of the 1995 Graves-prize and the 1997 Józef Attila prize and Déry Tibor prize.
