Jyrki Kiiskinen

(Finland) Born in 1963 in Helsinki. Jyrki
Kiiskinen debuted as a poet in 1989. He
has also worked as a journalist, especially
in literary magazines. Nowadays he
works as a freelance writer in Helsinki.
He has translated poetry from Swedish,
English and Spanish, he has written
essays, and has now published four collections
of poetry and two novels. His
collection Kun elän was awarded the
poetry prize Dancing Bear in 2000 for
the best collection of the year. His texts
have been translated into ten languages.
