Kiwao Nomura

Kiwao Nomura (1951) graduated at the Department of Japanese Literature, Waseda University. Nomura is a leading contemporary Japanese poet whose activities extend to writing novels, essays, critical works, translating, and research in comparative poetics. His poems have been translated into several languages and have appeared in different anthologies. He served as director of the ‘Euro-Japan Poetry Festival in Tokyo 2005’ and the ‘Contemporary Poetry Festival 2007: To the Pacific Rim’. Nomura is also active internationally, having been invited to participate in the Rotterdam International Poetry Festival and other poetry festivals around the world, and participate in The University of Iowa International Writing Program.
