Lars Gustafsson

LARS GUSTAFSSON, born in 1963. He graduated from philosophy at the Uppsala University and then continued his studies at the Magdalene College from Oxford. He is on of Sweden's most active writers, for he is the author of many poems, short stories, novels, critical essays and artivles. Moving to USA in 1982 where he has lived to this day in Austin, Texas, had a big impact on his life. He was also a professor on the University of Texas teaching philosophy and Germanic studies. For his opus he received several awards, including Prix Européen de l'Essai Charles Veillon (1983), an award of Swedish academy Bellman (1990= and a Swedish award Pilot (1996).
