Luis Chaves (1969, Costa Rica). Poet, writer and translator. He received many awards for his work, among others the Fray Luis de Leon award for his collection Chan Marshall (2005) and the national Costarican poetry award, given by the Ministry of Culture, for his book La máquina de hacer niebla. His books have been published in Costa Rica, Spain, Argentina, Mexico and Germany. In 2011 he received the Jean Jacques Rousseau stipendium given by Akademie Schloss Solitude and is currently writting his third novel as a scholarship holder of Berliner Künstlerprogramm DAAD, which also supported Mr. Chaves' visit at Days of Poetry and Wine Festival.
