Martin Solotruk

(Slovakia) Born in 1970 in Bratislava.
For his first poetry book Tiché vojny
(Silent wars, Drewo a Srd: Bratislava,
1997) he got the Slovak literary fund
premium for the best debut of the year.
He is translating literature from English
(Heaney, Simic, Beckett, Ashbery,
Hughes, Stevens and others), working
as an assistant for American literature at
the Bratislava University. Book translations:

Bratislava, 2000; Ted Hughes, Crow,
