Sharmistha Mohanty

Sharmistha Mohanty (India) is the author of three works of prose, Book One, New Life, and Five Movements in Praise. Her work pushes the boundaries of fictional prose, moving it towards the prose poem. She is currently working on a book of poems, I Make New the Song Born of Old, as well as a book of prose. Her work has appeared in journals in the US, the UK, France, Germany, India and China. She is the founding editor of the online literature journal Almost Island and is the initiator of the Almost Island Dialogues series, an annual international writers’ meeting held in New Delhi. Mohanty was a participant at the Kochi Muziris Biennale 2016/17, Asia’s largest art show, where she created a poetry installation.
