Tadeusz Pióro

(Poland) Born in Warsaw, he spent his
childhood in Croatia and Tanzania.
Graduated from high school in Warsaw,
studied English, left for the U.S. A., got a
doctorate in English at Berkeley, taught at SMU in Dallas, moved back to
Warsaw, where, at the moment, heads
the translations division of the Polish
Publishing Institute. Besides poetry he
writes literary criticism and translates.
So far he has published: Dom bez kantow
(Chicago, 1992, and Legnica, 1998),
Okecie (Warszawa, 1993), Wiersze
okolicznosciowe (Lublin, 1997), Wola i
Ochota (Legnica, 2000), Infinite
Neighborhood (Cambridge, 2000).
