Milan Děžinský

(Czech Republic), born in 1974. He graduated from Czech literature and English at the faculty in Ústí nad Labem. His literary reviews and articles were published in several periodicals. He allso translates poetry from English. He has published four books of poetry (Černa hodinka; Kašel mé milenky;Slovník noci and Přízraky). The latter two were shortlisted for the annual Magnesia Litera Book Award.

Bogdan Trojak


Bogdan Trojak

(Czech Republic), born in 1975 in Czech Tesin. He has graduated in Journalism. He translates from Polish. He has published the following three books of poetry: Kuním štìtcem (1996), Pan Twardowski (1998) – the book was awarded The Jiří Orten Prize, the most important Czech prize for young authors, and Jezernice (2001).

Petr Hruška


Petr Hruška

(Czech republic), born in 1964. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Arts in Ostrava, where he lives, and works for the Institute of Czech Literature in Brno. He has published three books of poetry: Obývací nepokoje (Unrest Rooms) (1995), Měsíce (Months) (1998), and Vždycky se ty dveře zavíraly (The Door Had Always Been Closing) (2002). He has been described as the poet of unrest and hidden dangers in everyday life, especially in relationships. Recently his poetry has been translated into French, German, English, Polisch and Dutch.
