TOGARA MUZANENHAMO was born in Lusaka, Zambia and brought up in Norton, Zimbabwe. He studied Business Administration in Paris and The Hague. He then returned to Zimbabwe and worked as a journalist before moving to an organization dedicated to the development of aspiring scriptwriters. He then moved to the United Kingdom for a year to focus on writing poetry. Since then his poems have appeared widely in international journals and magazines. His first collection, Spirit Brides, was published by Carcanet Press in 2006 and shortlisted for the Jerwood Alderburgh First Collection Prize. Togara Muzanenhamo has published two other collections of poems, Gumiguru (Carcanet Press, 2014) which was shortlisted for the Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry and Textures, poems by John Eppel and Togara Muzanenhamo (amaBooks, 2014) which won the National Arts Merit Award for Literature.
