Aleš Mustar

Aleš Mustar (1968, Slovenia) is a poet, literary translator, and freelancer. He graduated in English and pedagogy and earned a PhD in Romanian literature. In 2005, he published his poetry collection (U)sodno tolmačenje (Judicial Interpretation), which was nominated for a debut award. In 2017, he published Srednja leta (Middle Years), nominated for the Veronika and Janko Jerman Awards, and in 2021, his latest collection, K(o)ronika (Corona(tion)). He is featured in several anthologies, and his poetry has been translated into multiple languages. Recently, a selection of his poems was published in Romanian under the title Umetnikov srednjeletni portret (The Middle-Aged Portrait of an Artist), which was declared Book of the Week by the prominent literary platform Literomania. He has translated over thirty works and has also worked in theater as a dramaturg.
