Gonca Özmen
/Turkey
(Turkey), born in 1982. She is an M.A.
student at the University of Istanbul.
Her first poem was published in 1997,
when she was fifteen years old, and
won an award in the same year. Her first
book of poetry Kuytumda (In My Nook,
2000) was awarded the Orhan Murat
Ar burnu Poetry Prize, and in 2003 she
was given an award from the University
of Istanbul. Since 1997 she has been
writing for several literary magazines.
She also writes fairy-tales and essays.
Currently, she is a translator and is setting
up a magazine of literary translation
with her friends.
