Lily Michaelides/Cyprus, 1955
Lily Michaelides (1955, Cyprus) has published 6 collections of poetry. Her bilingual poetry collection Arena (2014) was shortlisted for the national poetry award. Her latest collection is Pagideuméno metáxi (»Entrapped Silk«, 2021). She also authored 3 collections of prose, among which the bilingual Ekeínos, andrón istories / Him, stories of men (2018) was shortlisted for the national narrative award. Her poems have been published in newspapers and literary magazines in Cyprus and abroad, and have been translated into a number of languages. In 2013 she joined the Board of Directors of the Cyprus PEN Centre, where she was in charge of public and international relations until 2019. In 2006 she cofounded Ideogramma, which organizes literature festivals and poetry events, local as well as international.
