Maarten Inghels
/Belgium, 1988Maarten Inghels 1988, Belgium) was the official City Poet of Antwerp in Belgium from 2016 until 2018. His latest book Contact connects poetry, visual arts and performance and received wide critical acclaim. He coordinated The Lonely Funeral in Belgium, a social and literary project which provides poets to speak at funerals of those without relatives and friends to attend. An eponymous anthology was published in Dutch, German and English. Inghels also published The Invisible Route, a map of crossing the city of Antwerp without being seen by the extended camera network. The map plays upon earlier motives of his work: the friction between the public and the private and the art of disappearing.
