Natalija Milovanović

Natalija Milovanović (1995, Slovenia) is a translator and poet who writes in Serbian and Slovenian. Her first poetry collection Samoumevno (»Taken for Granted«, 2021) was awarded the Best Debut at the 37th Slovenian Book Fair and was selected for the Pranger Festival 2022, a gathering of poets, critics and translators of poetry, as well as for the booklet 10 Books from Slovenia 2022, in which best books of the past year are presented in English. In co-authorship with Tanja Božić, she wrote the performative poetry dialogue Udomačevanje domačih živali/Pripitomljavanje domaćih životinja (»Domestication of Domestic Animals«, bilingual edition, 2019), dedicated to the themes of migration(s) and language(s). Milovanović is a two-time finalist of the Poetry Tournament, and her poems have been translated into several languages. She is a tutor at the Premuda Summer School of Literary Translation (German-Slovenian). She lives and works in Graz, Austria.
