Petr Hruška

Petr Hruška (1964, Czech Republic), poet and columnist, has worked at the Institute for Czech Literature of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague as a researcher in 20th century literature since 1995, and he also teaches literature at the Masaryk University in Brno. He published a number of poetry collections, several volumes of short prose and scientific monographs about significant figures of Czech literature. Hruška received the Dresdner Lyrikpreis (1998), Jan Skácel Award (2009), Premio Piero Ciampi  (2014) and National Prize for Literature (2013). He is also involved in organizing various “wild” literary performances and social events for the protection of the environment. His work has been translated into a number of languages, including Slovene.
