Tone Škrjanec
/Slovenia, 1953Tone Škrjanec (1953, Slovenia) has published twelve poetry collections, the first, Blues zamaha (»The Blues of Swing«), in 1997 and the last Indigo, (»Indigo«), in 2023. In 2017 he received the Velenjica and the Cup of Immortality awards, the latter for his ten-year oeuvre. For the collection Dihaj (»Breathe«), he received the two main Slovenian awards, the Veronika and Jenko awards. eleven books of his poetry have been published abroad, and his poems are included in numerous Slovene and foreign anthologies and also widely translated. His record Lovljenje ritma (»Catching the Rhythm«) consists of his poems set to music, and he has collaborated on three further records.
