Concert: Mónika Lakatos – Romanimo

Mónika Lakatos is one of the most important representatives of the Hungarian Roma contemporary musical tradition. She masteres various Roma singing and dancing styles from an early age. Although she often performed as a child, in 1994 she began to work seriously on her repertoire with the help of the Roma community, and then joined the Moonworld Theater as a singer, dancer, and actress. With her extraordinary voice, she performed at prestigious Hungarian events, among others, she was guest of the international Womex festival. Mónika Lakatos is a member of several music formations. Her professional and private partner is Mazsi, guitarist of the band Romengo. They perform together regularly.
