ILYA KAMINSKY: Deaf Republic

The puppet musical Deaf Republic is based on the eponymous poetry collection by this year’s curator, Ukrainian-American poet Ilya Kaminsky. In his work, deafness is a metaphor for the state of society that despite miscommunication and conflicts still hopes for peace and not for silence. After the show there will be a conversation with the poet.
