ULRIKE KÖB: reduce, reuse, rethink

23. August/Friday/ 12:00

Fürst House, Ptuj

Artist: Ulrike Köb

Exhibition reduce, reuse, rethink is a composition of selected works, which show waste, everyday objects and food arranged aesthetically and harmoniously in color to attract the viewer’s attention. The appealing images are a vivid reminder on how carelessly everyday items are thrown away and how waste is occupying our environment. Ulrike's aim is to emphasize the importance of sensible handling and the appreciation of natural food. Climate change being one of today’s greatest dangers to mankind, her displayed images shall stimulate thoughts of our consumption behavior. With her fine visual art, she advocates for a regenerative system of circular economy, mirroring the sustainable and waste-free cycle of nature.

About the artist

Ulrike Koeb, Austrian, lives and works as a food and still-life photographer in Vienna. Her interest in photography was originally sparked by a love for detail and the passion for color, light and style which led her to artistic photography. After her training in a Viennese photo studio, she attended masterclasses in Maine and New Mexico, USA.

In addition to commercial magazine and book projects, her photographs have appeared in numerous publications and have been shown internationally. More recently her focus has turned to art photography. She often creates out of food and found objects (especially from plastic) exciting, sometimes irritating, thought-provoking compositions.
