Poetry in Focus: Germany

Slovenia will be visited by four giants of contemporary German-language poetry: Jan Wagner, Monika Rinck, Birgit Müller-Wieland and José F. A. Oliver.

Together with Slovenian colleagues Milan Dekleva, Miljana Cunta, Gregor Podlogar and Stanka Hrastelj, and translator Amalija Maček, they will be residing in Jeruzalem, close to the border between Slovene and German languages, and translating their poetry, and will then present their work to audiences at three unforgettable venues: at the Garden of Remembrance and Comradeship in Petanjci, in Ljutomer and at the Pruh quarry.

The magic of words that brings us closer to our neighbours as well as to ourselves.
